摘要
Indexingtechniqueshavebeendevelopedforwirelessdatabroadcastenvironments,inordertoconservethescarcepowerresourcesofthemobileclients.However,theuseofinterleavedindexsegmentsinabroadcastcycleincreasestheaverageaccesslatencyfortheclients.Inthispaper,thebroadcast-basedspatialqueryprocessingmethods(BBS)arepresentedforthelocation-basedservices.IntheBBS,broadcasteddataobjectsaresortedsequentiallybasedontheirlocations,andtheserverbroadcaststhelocationdependentdataalongwithanindexsegment.Then,asequentialprefetchingandcachingschemeisdesignedtoreducethequeryresponsetime.Theperformanceofthisschemeisinvestigatedinrelationtovariousenvironmentalvariables,suchasthedistributionsofthedataobjects,theaveragespeedoftheclientsandthesizeoftheservicearea.
