Study and design of cladding power stripper for high power fiber laser systems

摘要 Heathandlinghasbeenasignificantproblemofthehighpowerfiberlasersystemsastheoutputpowerincreasesrapidly.Claddingpowerstripper(CPS)whichisusedtodealwiththeunwantedopticalpowerandlightisrequiredforhighercoolingability.Sothemethodsofstrippingtheunwantedlightattractedmuchattentionrecently,andthethermaleffectisgiven.However,fewinvestigationsfocusonthedissipationoftheheatconvertedfromtheunwantedlight.Inthispaper,anapproachofactivecoolingforCPSisdemonstrated.ThisisachievedbyusingmicrochannelcoolingtechnologyinheatsinkinginCPStoimprovetheefficiencyofheatexchange.InordertoexplainthemechanismofCPSthefunctionofitandconsistenceofcategoriesoftheunwantedlightaredetailedfirstly.Thenmicrochannelheatsinkingisproposedandverifiedbytheheatexchangetheory.Atlast,thedesignoftheCPSwithmicrochannelheatsinkingisshownandfollowingexperimentisconducted.Thefinaltemperatureofthedevicewith1000WcladdingpowerwasdemonstratedatlasttoverifytheabilityofheatdistributionoftheCPScomponent.ThissuggeststhattheseCPSscanbeusedtostripeathousandofwattsoflightinhighpowerdoublecladdingfiberlasers.
