Numerical simulation for GMAW with a new model based on phase field model

摘要 Inthispaper,anumericalinvestigationaboutthemetaltransferofGMAWisinvestigatedbasedonthephasefieldmodel.Bedifferentofmostpublishedwork,wetakethethermocapillaryeffectandmixtureenergyintotheprocessofphasetransferandinterfacechangewhichisdifferentfromvolumeoffluid(VOF)method.Wediscretizethewholemodelwithacontinuousfiniteelementmethodandwealsoapplyapenaltyformulationtothecontinuityconditionenhancingthestabilityofthepressure.MetaltransferofGMAWwithconstantandpulsecurrentiscomputedasnumericalexampleswhichagreeswellwiththedataofhigh-speedphotography.Theresultshowsthatthecomputingprocessofthephasefieldmodelisstabilityandithasahigherprecisioninpredictingthediameterofdroplet.
