摘要 Sequentialsimulationoflargecomplexphysicalsystemsisoftenregardedasacomputationallyexpensivetask.Inordertospeed-upcomplexdiscrete-eventsimulations,theparadigmofParallelandDistributedDiscreteEventSimulation(PDES)hasbeenintroducedsincethelate70s.Inthispaperwe'llanalyzetheapplicabilityofPDEStothemodelingandanalysisoflargecomputersystem;suchsystemsareincreasinglycommonintheareaofHighEnergyandNuclearPhysics,becausemanymodernexperimentsmakeuseoflarge"computefarms",Somefeasibilitytestshavebeenperformedonaprototypedistributedsiumulator.
