Polarization oscillating beams constructed by copropagating optical frozen waves

摘要 Polarizationoscillatingbeams,namely,polarizationstandingwaves,commonlyformedbyapaircounterpropagatinglightwaveswithwithinawavelengthinterval,offeringorthogonalpolarizations,oscillatetheirstatesofpolarizationconceptualandpracticalinterestsinlight-matterinteractionsofcoherentperiodicallysuchasthenonreciprocalmagnetoelectriceffect,andimpressiveapplicationsinopticalimaging,sensing,andchiralityde-tection.Here,weproposeanewclassofpolarizationoscillatingbeamsthatlongitudinallyvarystatesofpolari-zationwithspatialintervalswithincentimetersviathesuperpositionoftwocopropagatingopticalfrozenwaveswithpreshapedlongitudinalintensityprofilesandtransversephasestructures.Theflexibilityandmanipulabilityaredemonstratedbycreatingseveralpolarizationoscillatingbeamswithdifferentpolarizationstructures.Thisworkpavesanewwaytomanipulateotherwavesandmaybeusefulforapplicationsofopticalstandingwavesinopticalmanipulation,lightguidingofatoms,polarization-sensitivesensing,etc.
