AhighlyTm-dopedleadgermanateglassfiberisdevelopedusingtherod-in-tubemethod.The~2μmlaserbeamqualityofthefiberis~1.5.Theleadgermanatecompositefiberjumpersarehomemadeforallthefiberlaserinvestigations.Whencoreispumpedbya1590nmYb/Erfiberlaser,amaximumlaseroutputof313mWisachievedata670mWpumppower,andthecorrespondingslopeefficiencyis~52.8%.Moreover,byusinga2cmlongleadgermanatefiberasthegainmedium,a33mW1942nmTmlaserisalsodemonstrated.
