Physical literacy in the field of physical education——A challenge and a possibility

摘要 Publicationsofarticleswithphysicalliteracyasatopichaveincreaseddramaticallysincethebeginningof2000s.Theaimofthispaperisto,throughanexplorativeliteratureoverviewwithaninductiveapproach,analyzefrequent,andsignificantthemesinpublishedpeerreviewedarticles,withafocusonphysicalliteracy.ThedatabaseEBSCOhasbeenusedwiththeidentifiers'physicalliteracy'and'physicalliteracyandevidence'.FurthermoreICSSPEBulletin'sspecialissueonphysicalliteracyhasbeenincludedintheoverview.Thefindingshaveresultedinthreekeythemes:assumptionsoftheconceptphysicalliteracyanditseducativerole,sportsdevelopmentandphysicalliteracy,andassessmentandphysicalliteracy.Futurestudiesareneededtoexamineiftheadvocatedpedagogicalstrategiesbasedontheconceptphysicalliteracyhaveledtoareorganizedandrevitalizedschoolsubject.Thereisalsoanexistingcritiquetowardsmakingphysicalliteracyanidealisticneutralconceptorsynonymwithfundamentalmovementskillsorsportstalentidentification.Theroleofhighereducationemergesascrucialforthenextstepofthedevelopmentofthescientificframeworkasthisinvolveshowphysicalliteracywillbesociallyconfigured,nurtured,andembodiedinpractice.Copyrightó2015,ShanghaiUniversityofSport.ProductionandhostingbyElsevierB.V.Allrightsreserved.
