摘要 Addressingclimatechangehasbecomeacommonissuearoundtheworldinthe21stcenturyandequallyanimportantmissioninChineseforestry.UnderstandingthedevelopmentofmonitoringandassessmentofforestbiomassandcarbonstorageinChinaisimportantforpromotingtheevaluationofforestcarbonsequestrationcapacityofChina.Theauthorconductsasystematicanalysisofdomesticpublicationsaddressing'monitoringandassessmentofforestbiomassandcarbonstorage'inordertounderstandthedevelopmenttrends,describesthebriefhistorythroughthreestages,andgivesthesituationofnewdevelopment.Towardstheendofthe20thcentury,alargenumberofpapersonbiomassandproductivityofthemajorforesttypesinChinahadbeenpublished,coveringtheexplorationandeffortsofmorethan20years,whileinvestigationsintoassessmentofforestcarbonstoragehadbarelybegun.Basedonthedataofthe7thand8thNationalForestInventories,forestbiomassandcarbonstorageoftheentirecountrywereassessedusingindividualtreebiomassmodelsandcarbonconversionfactorsofmajortreespecies,bothpreviouslypublishedandnewlydeveloped.Accompanyingtheimplementationofthe8thNationalForestInventory,aprogramofindividualtreebiomassmodelingformajortreespeciesinChinawascarriedoutsimultaneously.Bymeansofthematicresearchonclassificationofmodelingpopulations,aswellasproceduresforcollectingsamplesandmethodologyforbiomassmodeling,twotechnicalregulationsonsamplecollectionandmodelconstructionwerepublishedasministerialstandardsforapplication.Requestsforapprovalofindividualtreebiomassmodelsandcarbonaccountingparametersofmajortreespecieshavebeenissuedforapprovalasministerialstandards.Withtheimprovementofbiomassmodelsandcarbonaccountingparameters,thematicassessmentofforestbiomassandcarbonstoragewillbegraduallychangedintoageneralmonitoringofforestbiomassandcarbonstorage,inordertorealizetheirdynamicmoni
