Inheterogeneousnaturalgasreservoirs,gasisgenerallypresentassmallpatch-likepocketsembeddedinthewater-saturatedhostmatrix.Thistypeofheterogeneity,alsocalled"patchysaturation",causessignificantseismicvelocitydispersionandattenuation.Toestablishtherelationbetweenseismicresponseandtypeoffluids,wedesignedarockphysicsmodelforcarbonates.First,weperformedCTscanningandanalysisofthefluiddistributioninthepartiallysaturatedrocks.Then,wepredictedthequantitativerelationbetweenthewaveresponseatdifferentfrequencyrangesandthebasiclithologicalpropertiesandporefluids.Arockphysicstemplatewasconstructedbasedonthinsectionanalysisofporestructuresandseismicinversion.ThisapproachwasappliedtothelimestonegasreservoirsoftherightbankblockoftheAmuDaryaRiver.Basedonpoststackwaveimpedanceandprestackelasticparameterinversions,theseismicdatawereusedtoestimaterockporosityandgassaturation.Themodelresultswerein~ooda~reementwiththeproductionregimeofthewells.
