A multiscale material point method for impact simulation

摘要 Tobettersimulatemulti-phaseinteractionsinvolvingfailureevolution,thematerialpointmethod(MPM)hasevolvedforalmosttwentyyears.Recently,aparticle-basedmultiscalesimulationprocedureisbeingdeveloped,withintheframeworkoftheMPM,todescribethedetonationprocessofenergeticnano-compositesfrommoleculartocontinuumlevelsothatamultiscaleequationofstatecouldbeformulated.Inthisletter,amultiscaleMPMisproposedviabothhierarchicalandconcurrentschemestosimulatetheimpactresponsebetweentwomicrorodswithdifferentnanostructures.Preliminaryresultsarepresentedtoillustratethatatransitionregionisnotrequiredbetweendifferentspatialscaleswiththeproposedapproach.
