Immobilization of Bovine Serum Albumin on Poly(ether ether ketone) for Surface Biocompatibility Improvement

摘要 UV-inducedgraftpolymerizationofacrylicacid(AA)onpoly(etheretherketone)(PEEK)filmswascarriedouttointroduce―COOHforthesubsequentimmobilizationofbovineserumalbumin(BSA).BSAwasintroducedonPEEKsurfacebasedonthecondensationreactionbetween―NH2and―COOH.Themodifiedsurface(PEEK-BSA)wascharacterizedbyenergy-dispersespectrometry(EDS),X-rayphotoelectronspectroscopy(XPS),watercontactanglemeasurementandUVspectrumanalysis.Thecontactanglewasfoundtodecreasefrom104°forthevirginPEEKfilmsto63°fortheBSA-immobilizedPEEKfilms,demonstratingasignificantimprovementofsurfacehydrophilicity.Moreover,theappearanceofnitrogenonPEEKfilmconfirmedbyXPSandEDSindicatestheimmobilizationofBSAonPEEKsurface.
