VELOCITY DISTRIBUTIONS OF SUSPENDED SEDIMENT-LADEN FLOWS IN OPEN CHANNELS-中国期刊网

摘要 Thispaperpresentsananalysisonthevelocitydistributionsofsteady,uniformsuspendedsediment-ladenflowsinopenchannels.Thesedimentparticle-particleinteractionsandthebuoyancyeffectsduetodensitystratificationaretakenintoaccountrespectivelythroughthewater-sedimentmixture’sconstitutiverelationshipandanadaptedMonin-Obukhovlengthscaletovalidatethetheoryforawiderspectrumofsedimentconcentrations.Thedevelopedmodel,withthesameyonKarmancoefficientasthatofasinglephaseflow,isshowntobeinexcellentagreementwithmeasurementsofcontrolledexperimentswithbothlowandheavysedimentconcentrations.
