摘要
Inwritingclasses,studentsoftenfeelpuzzledabouthowtogenerategoodideasontheessaytopicwhileteachersusuallyspendmostoftheclassroomhourstalkingaboutthewritingskillssuchasorganiza-tion,style,etc.Undersuchacircumstance,stu-dentswillbeimmersedinnotetakingandwillnothaveanopportunitytoexpressthemselves.Thispaperexploresapre-writingactivity—brainstorming—asawaytosolvesuchaproblem.Comparedwiththetra-ditionalteachingmethod,brainstorminghasthefol-lowingadvantages:(1)Ithelpsgenerategoodideasconcerningtheessaytopic.(2)Itismorestimulatingthanponderingovertheessaytopicalone.(3)Itmakesthewritingclasslivelierandmoreenjoyable.(4)Ithelpsincreasethereader-awarenessofthestu-dentsintheirwritingprocess.Suggestionsforadoptingbrainstormingactivitiesinwritingclassesarealsopre-sentedintheessay.
