Current Activity Characteristics of the Fault Zone Along the Northern Margin of West Qinling Range Revealed by GPS Measurementl-中国期刊网

摘要 ThefaultzonealongthenorthernmarginofWestQinlingRangeisamajoractivefaultzoneinthekeyseismicmonitoringareainthesoutheasternpartofGansuProvince.Inordertostudythecurrentactivitycharacteristicsofthisfault,GPSmonitoringnetworkhasbeenarrangedalongbothsidesofthefaultand3measurementshavebeenmadefrom1996to1998.Theresultindicatesthatobviousdifferentialmovementexistsalongthenorthandsouthsidesofthefaultandtheeastwardmovementonthesouthsideis3.8mm/alargerthanthatonthenorthside.IntheGPSnetwork,theshortenedsideisgenerallyinthetrendofEWandtheextendedsideisbasicallyNWtoSE.TheprincipalcompressionalstresstrendinthisareaisaboutEWandthesinistralmotionisobviousintheeasternpartofthefault(nearWushan).Themeasuredresultsalsoindicatethatthedisplacementratehasdecreasedby50%andthecompressionalstrainhasincreasedby100%ascomparedthedataof1997～1998withthoseof1996～1997,whichshowst
