TheNd60Fe20Al8Co10B2alloywaspreparedbysuctioncastingofthemoltenalloyintoacoppermoldunderargonatmosphere.Themicro-structuralandmagneticpropertychangesintheNd60Fe20Al8Co10B2alloyduringcrystallizationwereinvestigatedbyX-raydiffraction(XRD),differentialscanningcalorimetry(DSC),scanningelectronmicroscope(SEM)andthevibratingsamplemagnetometer(VSM).TheprecipitationandNd-richandFe-richphaseshavenosignificanteffectontheintrinsiccoercitityforNd60Fe20Al8Co10B2alloyannealedbelow723K.However,thegrowthofFe-richphasedecreasesthesaturatemagnetizationandremanenceofthealloy.Thehardmagneticbehaviorisdisappearedwhenthealloyisfullycrystallized.
