BasedonthecontinuityofthederivativesoftheNon-UniformRationalB-Splines(NURBS)curveandtheJaumannstrainmeasure,thepresentpaperadoptedthepositioncoordinatesofthecontrolpointsasthedegreesoffreedomanddevelopedaplanarrotation-freeEuler-Bernoullibeamelementforisogeometricanalysis,wherethederivativesofthefieldvariableswithrespecttothearc-lengthwereexpressedasthesumoftheweightedsumofthepositioncoordinatesofthecontrolpoints,andtheNURBSbasisfunctionswereusedastheweightfunctions.Furthermore,theconceptofbendingstripwasusedtoinvolvetherigidconnectionbetweenmultiplepatches.Severaltypicalexampleswithgeometricnonlinearitieswereusedtodemonstratetheaccuracyandeffectivenessoftheproposedalgorithm.Thepresentedformulationfullyaccountsforthegeometricnonlinearitiesandcanbeusedtostudythesnap-throughandsnap-backphenomenaofflexiblebeams.
