Researchshowsthatthemortalityrateamongpeoplewithschizophreniaisuptofourtimeshigherthanthatinthegeneralpopulation.Thesubsequenthighcomorbiditiesandsocietalcostofschizophrenianecessitatefindingbetter,moreeffectivetreatmentsandstrategiesforprevention.Oneofthecurrentobstaclesarethecomplicatedgeneetiologiesthatareinvolvedinthepathophyslologyofschizophrenia.Sofar,anincreasingnumberofclinicalandexperimentalstudiesshowlinksbetweenschizophreniatreatmentandgeneticconditions.Here,weanalyzetheliteratureonschizophreniagenetics,withaparticularfocusonthebrain,themindandenvironmentalinsults.Anoverlapofschlzophrenlawithotherpsychoticdisordershasalsobeentakenintoaccuntwithanattempttofindaparallelrelationshipbetweengeneticsandtreatment.Finally,wesummarizeallthepresent-daytreatmentoptionsforschizophrenialikeclozapineandelectroconvulslvetherapyandalsotakeintoconsiderationtherelativelyunexploredroleoftraditionalChinesemedicine.
