Asearlyas2000yearsago,ancientChinesemedicalrecordshaddescribedtherelationshipbetweendiseasesandappearanceindetail.Moreover,modernmedicinehasalsoconstantlystudiedtherelationshipbetweenfacialfeaturesandhealthinevolutionaryterms.Itiswellknownthatmanyhereditarydiseasesinvolvecertainabnormalfacialfeaturesandgenemutations.Thetumorisalsoconsideredasgeneticdisordertosomeextent,sowhatistherelationshipbetweencancergeneticsandcongenitaldevelopmentoffacialfeatures?Here,wereviewedsomecluestotheappearance-gene-tumorrelation,whichmightbecomethetargetsintheearlypreventionorgenetherapyofcancerinthefuture.Thissummaryprovidedusanewstrategyforthecancergeneticscreeningandanewresearchdirectionforgeneticdiagnosisofthepotentialdisease.
